Eric Averion, Esq.
Attorney Eric Averion is the owner and principal attorney at Averion Immigration Law, LLC. He has more than 15 years of experience practicing immigration law, and as a naturalized U.S. citizen he has the unique perspective of an immigrant who has personally felt the stresses and anxieties of navigating the immigration process.
Born abroad as the child of Filipino parents, Attorney Averion immigrated to the United States when he was a baby and spent his formative years growing up in Cleveland, Ohio. He then moved to Boston to attend Harvard College and became very involved in three student organizations with strong immigrant connections: the Harvard Philippine Forum, the Harvard South Asian Association, and the Harvard Phillips Brooks House Association.
After graduating from Harvard with a degree in Economics in 2002, Attorney Averion discerned that his calling lay outside the field of economics and finance. He spent the year after graduation serving as a volunteer and academic advisor at his former high school, and during that time he realized that he desired a career in immigration law because it would allow him to serve and connect with immigrants like himself and his family.
After coming to this realization, Attorney Averion enrolled at Boston College Law School and became very involved in its immigration law community. He participated in the school’s immigration spring break service trip in his first year, its Immigration Clinic in his second year, and its immigration law moot court team in his third year. He also served as the president of the Asian Pacific American Law Students Association in his second year and was a founding member of the school’s South Asian Law Students Association.
After graduating from Boston College Law School in 2007, Attorney Averion was admitted to practice law in Massachusetts and spent nearly 15 years as an attorney at Goldstein Immigration Lawyers. During that time, he rose to the level of Senior Associate Attorney, and became extremely well versed in the complexity of family, naturalization, and humanitarian based immigration cases.
Attorney Averion has since gone on to become the owner and principal attorney of Averion Immigration Law, where he strives to represent and support his clients with empathy, kindness, and compassion. He seeks to build community and connection, and at the same time provide high-quality legal representation for immigrants in pursuit of their dreams.
